NOVA LINCS develops cutting edge scientific research in key areas of Computer Science and Informatics, in cooperation with the international research community, knowledge and technology user communities, and local academic/industrial partners and other public institutions.
• Computer Systems – All computing devices, from servers to mobile phones and tiny sensors, are becoming interconnected in a ‘Internet of things’ world.
• Multimodal Systems – Multimedia computing is a key enabling technology for communicating ideas and data between humans and machines.
• Knowledge-based Systems – Computational reasoning about complex situations improves the quality, scope, and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.
• Software System – “Software is the new physical infrastructure of the information age”. Everything depends on robust, cheap, and secure software.
