Mission

IRIS mission is to offer strategic and integrated support in all key areas of innovation management to make a reality the valorisation of knowledge and commercialization of Academia-based technologies.

Competences                                                                               

Competences

It includes support in building applications for the different existing national international funding mechanisms. Also the disclosure of funding opportunities and the result analysis of the submitted applications are procedures conducted by IRIS. The contracting process is the responsibility of IRIS in close collaboration with the other necessary services such as legal support. In addition to the following services, there are also support in the management of research sensitive information (such as ethical issues and commitment to the Data Protection Regulation (RGPD)), publications under funded projects (comply with the Open Access policy under projects) between others.

Juliana Monteiro - Executive Director

Juliana Monteiro holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering (UA), currently she is the Executive Director at Innovation, Research & Impact Strategy office (IRIS). She has over 7 years of experience in supporting national and international R&I projects, both in the strategic area of proposals submission and also in legal & financial matters. Her experience is consolidated by her experience as a National Contact Point (NCP) during the 7º FP and H2020 in the area of "Climate Action, Environment, Efficiency of Resources and Raw Materials," Marie Curie Actions " and "Legal and Financial issues".
In IRIS, she performs functions of identifying and disseminating competitive financing opportunities and specialized support in the preparation of R&D project applications, at institutional and individual level. Strategic support in the valorization of NOVA.id.FCT's knowledge, throughout R&I applications and contract negotiation. Moreover, she is responsible for providing the relevant information regarding R&D indicators to the Boards and also in providing career training for the young researchers.
