BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND FUNDING

The ERC-PT Pre-assessment is a new Program and axis of ERC-Portugal by FCT, consisting of a peer pre-evaluation service available to researchers in the national scientific community who are in the preparation phase of applications to the European Research Council (ERC).

The objectives of this new Program are:

  1. To support the national scientific community in preparing proposals for the ERC by providing a pre-evaluation model aligned with the evaluation criteria and reviewer profiles of the ERC.

  1. To contribute to increasing Portugal’s funding levels in the ERC, success rates, and the quality of national submitted applications.

  1. To strengthen or fill gaps, in a free manner and across all scientific domains, compared to existing similar pre-evaluation processes at the institutional level.

In summary, this new program aims to assist researchers in preparing ERC proposals, improve Portugal’s performance in the ERC in terms of funding, success rates, and application quality, and expand the range of services provided by FCT to the national scientific community by introducing a new type of peer evaluation service.
