The largest research communication and promotion event in Europe is imminent. Activity proposals for the online program must be submitted by 15 October 2020.
The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public event that brings researchers closer to the general public. The Night revels the diversity of science and its impact on citizens’ daily lives, stimulating interest in research careers. Researchers show their work through hands-on experiments, science shows, games, quizzes, competitions, exhibitions, and digital activities. Last year, it attracted 1.6 million visitors across 400 cities in Europe and beyond.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s edition in Portugal will be very different. The European Researchers’ Night 2020 will follow all the rules of the Directorate-General of Health (DGS), but despite the restrictions there will be several types of activities. The schedule will include face-to-face and online activities. Any activity or event that boosts public awareness of the positive role of research in society is eligible.
The consortium, in which the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) is a partner, is shaping this year’s edition. The face-to-face activities will take place in Lisbon, Braga and Evora and the schedule will be available in October. Your contribution can make the European Researchers’ Night 2020 a great success.
